Collector by Nature
Being a collector at heart, these unique plants trapped my interest.
I’ve been a collector as long as I can remember. My hobbies have never fit in the standard boxes you’d expect. I’ve bred rare geckos, poison dart frogs, collected orchids, and moved to carnivorous plants in the last decade. I started buying divisions but once I took the dive into propagation and seed germination my collection exploded.
It’s a common quote for plant folks, but even more so when you grow from seed. If you want a one in a million plant the best way to do it is to grow a million plants.

A Love Language of Compliments
Ben loves hearing that he’s right. He is meticulous and motivated, whereas Matthew is reckless and frequently laments how far behind he is in plant work.
Ben is hyper-focused on Heliamphora and has cultivated a diverse and impressive collection over the past several years. When he commits to a species, he excels—most recently demonstrating success with Utricularia.
